DR. JAY JINSEOP JANG,

Dr. Jay Jinseop Jang is an educational leader in Boston, United States, and has held leadership positions in the non-profit and business sectors. Dr. Jang, a summa cum laude graduate of Korea Military Academy, served as a strategic planner at the US-Korea Combined Forces Command and the United Nations Command. After earning MBA/MPA degrees from New York University (NYU) and Harvard University (HKS), he manages two educational institutions: the Educational Divide Reform Institute (www.edrworld.org) and The Academy at Harvard Square (www.theacademy.ac), in Boston/Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Dr. Jang founded the Educational Divide Reform (EDR) Institute, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization (www.edrworld.org), in 2013. Under his leadership, EDR has promoted social inclusion through youth education and implemented programs such as “Step Up” and “Pathfinder” for the academic improvement and career preparation of low-income immigrant youth in the Boston area. Dr. Jang also designed EDR’s international youth leadership education programs such as “Sustainability” for international youth leadership training about UN Sustainable Development Goals, and “Bridging Generations” to personally connect Korean War American veterans with Korean and American children, honoring their dedication to the defense of freedom and democracy.

Dr. Jang is a member of the Boston Committee of Foreign Relations and the Boston Economic Club. He was a founding director of the US Taekwondo Education Foundation (7th degree black belt), and currently serves as the Chairman of the Boston OKTA Korean Business Association.
